Good Evening, Levy Families! I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that those of you who were brave enough to go out on Black Friday came through unscathed! Here’s what’s happening this week...

Upcoming Events:

  • LIFETOUCH will be at Levy for picture retakes TOMORROW, Monday, November 30th! If you wish to have your child’s picture retaken, please send in the original package with him/her tomorrow (you may keep your child’s class picture). If your child was absent or if you did not purchase a picture package and you wish to, envelopes are available in the school office, or you may make your purchase online at the Lifetouch website. If you have any problem with your picture package or wish to request a refund, please call the LIFETOUCH office directly at 828-5220, and they will assist you.

  • Tomorrow marks the end of the first trimester! Report cards will be coming home next Friday, December 11th.

  • We will resume our boxtop collections and school store this week for all K and first grade students!

Some Updates and Reminders:

  • Austin the Seahorse: Austin is taking an extended vacation for the month of December! Rumor has it that his elf-friend Shelly will be coming to visit us from the North Pole! Shelly will be hanging out in the halls and common areas of Levy School, keeping an eye on things and reporting back to the North Pole as needed - she will also be making special visits to the classrooms that earn the most Levy Loots throughout this month!

  • Thanks to your incredible generosity, we collected enough food during the month of November to provide several Levy families with Thanksgiving AND Christmas food baskets! If your family is in need of assistance - or if you know of a family who may need assistance - during this holiday season, we would like to help! Please contact our school nurse, Mrs. Linda Allard, as soon as possible. Assistance is completely confidential. During December, we will resume collections to support the Weekend Snack Pack program - we will be collecting fruit snacks this month!

  • Our parking lot, as many of us know from firsthand experience, is not designed for a quick turnaround. Space is limited, and with the approaching winter, things are only going to get more cramped. There are some basic guidelines that will make the situation more manageable and safe for everyone...we have had a couple of close calls this week, so it seems like a good time for a refresher:

    • Allow for a few extra minutes when dropping children off and picking them up.

    • Yield to buses

    • The circle in front of the building is for buses only during arrival and dismissal times.

    • Keep traffic flowing one way - enter the lot from the main entrance, and exit down the ramp to Mowry Street.

    • Handicapped parking spots may only be used by vehicles displaying the proper identification.

    • Be watchful of your surroundings when driving AND when escorting children to and from the building.

    • Refrain from using inappropriate language and gestures - children are all around. If there is a problem that needs to be addressed, please make me aware of it immediately.

For information whenever you need it, please be sure to check out our Levy website at  If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me at any  time!
