Dear Levy Families,

Upcoming Events:

  • Our Annual Levy Halloween Dance will be held this Friday, October 23rd, from 6-8 p.m. It’s always a frightfully good time, and we hope to see you all there! Please help us to make sure that everyone has a safe and fun evening. Remember:

    • Wear a costume, but please leave masks (or anything else that covers the face) and weapons and other props at home.

    • The cafeteria will be crowded as groups wait for their haunted tour of the building - parents can help us by joining in the fun and dancing with children, and by ensuring that children are not running wildly or entering “off-limits” areas outside the dance floor.

    • Friday’s event is only for current Levy students, accompanied by one adult only. We regret that our limited space does not allow us to accommodate siblings or extra family members. Please help us to avoid disappointments at the door by adhering to this restriction!

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up soon - they will be held on Thursday, November 5th, from 5-8 pm. You should be receiving sign-up information from your child’s teacher soon. This evening is an opportunity for you to meet with your child’s teacher one on one and discuss his/her progress so far - we hope to see everyone there!

  • Anyone who ordered items through the Cristoline Fundraiser will be able to pick them up on the evening of November 5th from 3:30 - 8:00 pm!

  • Mrs. Allard will be out of school next Friday, so Kindergarteners are invited to bring in their boxtops and labels and to visit the school store ON THURSDAY this week.

    • Mrs. Allard would like to remind families that box tops and labels must be turned in with UPC codes and expiration dates intact. Any box tops or labels that are missing this critical information will not be accepted by the sponsoring companies and must be thrown away.

Some Updates and Reminders:

  • Austin the Seahorse: Congratulations to Mrs. Hirschfeld’s/Mrs. Frickel’s Kindergarten class and Mrs. Avila’s 1st Grade class who earned a visit from Austin the Seahorse with all their Levy Loot this week! Keep up the good work!

  • Where in the word is Austin the Seahorse? If your family is heading off on a vacation adventure, why not take Austin with you? We would love to have some snapshots of our smaller (12”) Austin enjoying a little R&R, near or far! Check in with me, or with your child’s teacher, if you would like to have Austin join you on vacation - when you share your photos, we will post them on our Levy website!

  • Each month we will be collecting donations of nonperishable food items to support the town’s Weekend Snack Pack program.  Snack packs go home each weekend to feed several of our Levy families. This month we will gratefully accept donations of instant oatmeal (packets) and individual applesauce cups. You may send them to school with your children - a collection box will be in the lobby! Thank you in advance for your generosity!

For information at any time, please be sure to check out our new Levy website at  As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me at any  time!

Have a great week!

Julie Mayhew
