At the Week…

Dear Levy Families,

Updates and Upcoming Events:

  • Austin the Seahorse: Congratulations to Mrs. Lucia’s Kindergarten class and Mrs. Martins’ 1st Grade class who were the first to earn a visit from Austin the Seahorse with all their Levy Loot! It was a tight race - and all together, the children at Levy collected more than 1,500 Levy Loots over the past three weeks! That’s an accomplishment for EVERYONE to be proud of! Starting tomorrow morning, I’ll be pulling the Levy Loots of two Kindergarteners   and two first graders each day and announcing their names over the intercom - and then calling their families to share the good news!

  • This week, we will go through the exercise of a lockdown drill with the Burrillville Police. Staff and students will not know in advance when this drill is taking place, but everyone has been practicing and reviewing procedures, and we expect the drill to run smoothly with minimal anxiety and interruption to our days.

  • On Wednesday, the packets for our first fundraiser of the year will come home!

  • There will be a flu clinic for all ATL children and their families on Tuesday, September 29th, from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Burrillville Middle School cafeteria. More information and registration forms can be found under the Nurse’s Notes on our school website!

  • Mark your calendars! School Picture Day is October 5th!

  • Our third annual Levy Learning Night is going to be held on Thursday, October 8th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Special activities and presentations have been planned for parents of all our students in preK through grade 1.  Invitations will be coming home tomorrow - we hope to see everyone there!

  • Kindergarten children are invited to bring in their boxtops and labels and to visit the school store this week.

Some Reminders:

  • Please remember that changes to dismissal routines are discouraged - unexpected changes create stress and anxiety for children, something we strive to avoid if we can!  If you must make a change to your child’s dismissal routine, the office requires a note when your child arrives at school in the morning. We cannot accommodate phone call changes unless there is an emergency. We appreciate your cooperation and assistance!

  • Handicapped parking spots are clearly marked and are designated only for use by those with the proper identification tag clearly visible in the vehicle’s windshield. No other vehicle may occupy those spots at any time, for any purpose.

  • The family access portal on Skyward is open, and many of you have already visited and requested changes to your contact information! Please be patient as we work through the approval process - it may be a few weeks before you receive notification that your requests are approved. Thank you!

For information at any time, please be sure to check out our new Levy website at  As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me at any  time!

Have a great week!
