Good Evening, Levy Families! Here’s what’s happening this week...

Upcoming Events:

  • Tomorrow, November 23rd, we will hold our annual Turkey Trot! This is a fun activity for our students, who stroll on the bike path behind Levy School, with a little bit of Turkey Trivia mixed in! The weather promises to be beautiful for “trotting” - clear, but cool. Please remember to dress children for physical activity - sturdy sneakers or boots are a must, along with warm layers!

  • On Tuesday, November 24th, we will hold our annual Levy Thanksgiving Feast. Thank you for all your food donations!

  • There will be no school this Wednesday through Friday, November 25th, 26th, and 27th for Thanksgiving break!

  • LIFETOUCH will be at Levy for picture retakes on the day we return from Thanksgiving break, Monday, November 30th! If you wish to have your child’s picture retaken, please send in the original package on that day (you may keep your child’s class picture). If your child was absent or if you did not purchase a picture package and you wish to, envelopes are available in the school office. If you have any problem with your picture package or wish to request a refund, please call the LIFETOUCH office directly at 828-5220, and they will assist you.

  • There will be no boxtop collection or school store this week!

Some Updates and Reminders:

  • Austin the Seahorse: Congratulations to Mrs. Lucia’s Kindergarten class and Ms. Byrne’s first grade class who earned enough Levy Loot to have a visit from Austin and his friend Tom the Turkey this week!

  • Thank you to all of you who came out for the Superintendent’s presentation this past Thursday. If you were unable to attend and you would like more information, the powerpoint is posted on the district website at Following the district-wide presentation slides, there are slides for each of the schools - Levy’s are at the very end!

  • Our parking lot, as many of us know from firsthand experience, is not designed for a quick turnaround. Space is limited, and with the approaching winter, things are only going to get more cramped. There are some basic guidelines that will make the situation more manageable and safe for everyone...we have had a couple of close calls this week, so it seems like a good time for a refresher:

    • Allow for a few extra minutes when dropping children off and picking them up.

    • Yield to buses

    • The circle in front of the building is for buses only during arrival and dismissal times.

    • Keep traffic flowing one way - enter the lot from the main entrance, and exit down the ramp to Mowry Street.

    • Handicapped parking spots may only be used by vehicles displaying the proper identification.

    • Be watchful of your surroundings when driving AND when escorting children to and from the building.

    • Refrain from using inappropriate language and gestures - children are all around. If there is a problem that needs to be addressed, please make me aware of it immediately.

For information whenever you need it, please be sure to check out our Levy website at  If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me at any  time!

Please know how truly thankful we are for the great joy and privilege of teaching your children every day. My best wishes to you, and to your loved ones, for safe travels and a very happy Thanksgiving!
